Abstract: This Bachelor's final project explores the potential of video games as a pedagogic tool. Enviro is a 2D platform game designed to promote environmental awareness and encourage responsible consumption of waste. The game follows the journey of a humanoid seedling character who must navigate through several levels, collecting recyclables and eliminating trash enemies for points. Along the way, players will receive tips and information about the benefits of recycling, reducing and reusing waste. The primary objective of this project is to develop a functional, educational 2D platform game that is engaging for all types of users. To do so, the game will be developed using the Unity game engine. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the effectiveness of the game in promoting values that encourage sustainability. The project uses an iterative and agile development methodology, along with a usercentered design, incorporating feedback from playtesting sessions to refine the game mechanics and user experience. The development process will involve designing and implementing game mechanics, creating assets, programming, and testing. Overall, Enviro aims to demonstrate the potential of video games as a tool for promoting environmental awareness and engaging players in sustainability issues.
