Abstract: Child and adolescent mental health services in our country are increasingly in demand and emotional education is appearing significantly in the legislative support of inclusive education. The following work aims to collect, analyze, synthesize and discuss the existing information on the relationship between emotional intelligence and its incidence in the development of depression and anxiety disorder in the child and adolescent population. The objective is to contrast, through a systematic review, if any relationship has been established between emotional intelligence and the development of depressive and anxiety disorders in said population. The method used has been the selection of 10 research articles following the criteria that they refer to the child and adolescent population and talk about the study of emotional intelligence in relation to depression and anxiety, from 2010 to 2022. It was expected find that high Emotional Intelligence (EI) decreases the appearance of depressive and anxious behaviors. The main limitations have been the lack of current publications that take into account the selected variables and the multiple investigations on these variables during adolescence, but lack of information on the child population. This work provides a global vision of the current situation that shows the need to promote educational and clinical programs that promote the development of emotional intelligence and the need for a greater volume of work that investigates the relationship between Emotional Intelligence with anxiety and depression in the child and adolescent population.
