Title: Eficacia de las aplicaciones móviles en la mejora de la autonomía de los pacientes intervenidos de artroplastia de rodilla

Abstract: Knee arthroplasty is a common surgical procedure used in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, which can be physically and psychologically challenging for patients. In the healthcare sector, there has been a significant increase in the use of digital solutions, and mobile applications can play a crucial role in the perioperative process for patients. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of mobile applications in empowering patients during knee arthroplasty treatment. A comprehensive search of scientific publications was conducted in scientific databases, identifying 11 publications that met the inclusion criteria. The available mobile applications were analyzed, and the benefits of their use were evaluated. Research on health applications has increased due to the pandemic. Mobile applications have shown benefits in physical function, pain management, and patient satisfaction. However, more patient involvement is needed in the development of applications to enhance their usefulness. While there is an upward trend in research on mobile health applications, limitations arising from the variability of studies hinder direct comparisons between them. The use of mobile applications for patient empowerment is recommended, and future research on cost-effectiveness and patient involvement in application design is suggested.
