Abstract: Given that mental disorders such as anxiety and depression, as well as prevention and promotion strategies, are prevalent nowadays, the main objective of this study is to determine the current utilization of digital tools in the prevention and promotion of mental health for anxiety and depression. The inclusion criteria consisted of English, Spanish, or Catalan scientific publications from 2017 to 2023 involving adolescent or adult populations. Exclusion criteria involved non-compliance with the inclusion criteria, focusing on other disorders and not using digital tools. The search was conducted between April 17th and 19th, 2023, using databases such as Web of Science, PubMed, PsycInfo, and Scopus, resulting in the inclusion of 18 articles. The findings revealed that the most commonly employed digital tools were mobile applications and internet-based interventions (22, 24-27, 29, 31, 32, 33-38), and the scientific evidence supported the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) (27, 28, 30, 32-34, 36, 37, 39), positive psychology (22, 25, 26, 29), and mindfulness (29, 30, 32, 34) in anxiety and depression management. However, it is not possible to draw definitive conclusions about which specific digital tools and scientific evidence are effective for the prevention of anxiety and depression. Regarding promotion strategies, the study concludes that there are various effective approaches, but further investigation is needed to identify additional factors that influence their success. Limitations of the study include the potential exclusion of relevant articles, the lack of consideration for article quality, and the limited number of articles included in the review.
