Alteraciones psicológicas en hijos/as expuestos a violencia de género. Una revisión sistemática

Abstract

Las consecuencias de la violencia de género no solamente alcanzan a la mujer que es quien sufre directamente este tipo de violencia sino que, en muchas ocasiones, también golpean a quienes están expuestos día tras día a ese clima y modelo relacional: los hijos y las hijas. Esta revisión sistemática pretende analizar si existen alteraciones psicológicas en hijos e hijas expuestas a este tipo de violencia, en caso afirmativo examinar esas alteraciones y analizar posibles diferencias por género. Para ello se utilizaron las plataformas ProQuest y Google Scholar, estableciendo unos criterios de exclusión e inclusión de estudios empíricos y, finalmente, se eligieron un total de 12 artículos. En todos ellos hubo consenso en ver alteraciones en el plano social, emocional, íntimo y relacional. En aquellos estudios donde se hacía diferenciación por género se podría entrever diferencias en las alteraciones psicológicas, aunque los resultados fueron algo dispares. Así, podemos concluir que hay acuerdo entre los/as autores/as para afirmar que los/as hijos/as expuestos a V.G en sus casas desarrollan alteraciones psicológicas en diferentes ámbitos y que se observan diferencias por género. Las conclusiones obtenidas de esta revisión sistemática pueden ser de ayuda para aquellos/as profesionales que trabajan con población infantojuvenil, ya que podrían percibir qué actitudes o comportamientos hacen entrever que estén siendo testigos directos o indirectos de V.G en sus casas

The consequences of gender violence not only has an impact on women, who suffer directly from this type of violence, but on many occasions, also affects those who are exposed day by day to this climate and relational model: the sons and daughters. This systematic review aims to analyze whether there are psychological alterations in sons and daughters exposed to this type of violence, to structure these alterations and to analyze possible differences by gender. The ProQuest and Google Scholar platforms were used to search for empirical studies, establishing exclusion and inclusion criteria and finally, a total of 13 articles were selected. In all of them there was consensus in seeing alterations in the social, emotional, intimate and relational spheres. In those studies where differentiation by gender was made, differences in psychological alterations could be glimpsed, although the results were somewhat disparate. Thus, we can conclude that there is agreement among the authors that children exposed to G.V. in their homes develop psychological alterations in different areas and that differences by gender are observed. The conclusions obtained from this systematic review may be of help to professionals working with children and adolescents, as they may be able to perceive which attitudes or behaviors suggest that they are being direct or indirect witnesses of G.V. in their homes.
