Abstract: This text addresses the reasons for the lack of recognition and respect for people with functional diversity in the context of the pandemic and post-pandemic. Apparent advances in the field of rights have crumbled under the reasons and effects of a differential biopolitics on disability particularly applied to institutionalized people. The presentation will place some of the reasons for this situation and open a broader discussion on the tensions between law, dignity, and respect. In continuity, a way of reflection will be opened on the ways of resisting the hegemonic narrative in terms of cultural production.
