Abstract: There are differences in the conception of symptom and pathology meaning between the cognitive behavioral psychology, considered as the most relevant therapy in the psychological landscape, and humanistic psychology, relegated to a second level, due to the lack of scientific accuracy. These differences are reflected in the content and the process of psychotherapeutic interventions proposed by both models. Although it seems that it has always been a well-defined border between the two perspectives, the appearance in the psychological Landscape of the third-generation therapies and positive psychology, derived from cognitive psychology-behavioral, shows a conceptual change that approaches to the fundamentals of humanistic psychology.
