Title: Los efectos sobre el medio ambiente en las nuevas democracias, las dictaduras y las democracias tradicionales

Abstract: The main purpose of this research is to identify and assess whether the development or transition to closed or open forms of government -autocracies and democracies-, has involved a greater or lesser contribution to the quality of the environment. As a clear conclusion, the new democratic governments are more likely to respond to environmental concerns and, therefore, are more likely to support international agreements than autocracies.
