Abstract: This paper presents some general reflections on a psychoeducational conceptualization based on a sociocognitive approach to supporting learning with information and communication technologies (ICT) in the context of higher education. The article is divided into three sections. Firstly, we explore the meaning of the term learning support from a sociocognitive constructivist standpoint using the concept of instructional scaffolding. In the second part, we deal with some of the most important conceptual implications of the use of technology as an aid to learning. In the final section, we detail various pedagogical dimensions of higher education environments developed using technology.
