Title: Residencias de artistas en escuelas: espacios de aprendizaje compartido en el aula
Author: Martín Bañuelos, Laura
Tutor: CABALLERO-GALVEZ, ANTONIO A.
Abstract: In order to know the role that artist residences can play in schools within the pedagogical strategy of contemporary art centers, two programs of artists in residence in schools in the Community of Madrid have been analyzed. These programs are linked to five art centers of public, regional ownership, the CA2M in Móstoles, and local, CentroCentro, Medialab Prado, Conde Duque and Matadero Madrid in the city of Madrid. These residences move away from the typical image of the artist locked in his studio creating and imply a pedagogical action. Artists, girls and boys and teachers, are in the school space, a unique space, with its own rules and very normative, something that is not always close to doing artistic. From these meeting spaces, opportunities for shared learning can arise between artists, teachers, boys and girls. And as will be seen, also from mediating agents and ultimately from cultural and educational institutions.
