Abstract: Taking advantage of the Arduino platform a prototype of a connected pet flap was made. This prototype has sensors to detect the crossing pets and actuators to actually open or close the flap. The prototype has a module that provides a wireless interface to connect to the internet. The user through his mobile device and the Telegram application is able to control different aspects of the prototype. For example, you can control the opening and closing, you can schedule actions based on time or you can schedule actions based on the position of the pets. The device, apart from receiving orders, can also notify users of the different events that have been detected, such as a crossing pet.
