Abstract: Breast cancer of the clinical subtype HER2 + (Epidermal Factor 2 positive receptor) accounts for 25% of all cases diagnosed. The HER2 protein, which belongs to a family of four transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptors, helps control the way a healthy breast cell grows, splits and repairs. However, when the HER2 gene does not work properly and makes many copies of itself, uncontrolled growth and division of cells occurs. HER2 protein overexpression, ERBB2 gene amplification, or both, are associated with increased tumor aggressiveness. It is currently unknown why a person has cancer. Different causes have been indicated that can increase the probability of suffering from it as hereditary factors, radiation, diet, hormones, obesity, chemicals, intoxications and unhealthy habits such as alcohol or smoking. Current studies show that a normal weight, a healthy diet low in fat and simple sugars, with a high proportion of fruits, vegetables and whole products, have the ability to significantly reduce morbidity and recurrence risk. Other more specific works focus on the benefits of compounds found in certain foods that have the ability to inhibit the expression of the HER2 + oncogene and therefore tumor growth These compounds are: Foods containing anthocyanins. Polyunsaturated fatty acids (18: 1 omega-9 oleic acid). Fiber rich diets. Green tea (Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Curcumin. Lycopene. Therefore, a nutritional approach to reduce the risk of relapses in breast cancer HER2 + seems fundamental and therefore it is considered relevant to carry out a literature review of the studies that exist so far and from them to carry out dietary guidelines based on scientific facts.
