Title: El perquè de tot plegat: Anàlisi comparativa de l'adaptació de Ventura Pons del recull de contes de Quim Monzó. La ironia monzoniana a la pantalla
Author: Traver Planella, Laura
Tutor: Iribarren, Teresa
Abstract: The final thesis proposes a comparative study of two compilations of short stories "The Why of Everything (1993) and The Island of Maians (1985)" by Quim Monzó, the canonical author of Catalan literature, and the film adaptation The Why of Everything (1995), directed by the filmmaker Ventura Pons with the aim of analysing the resources used to transfer a set of stories to the big screen in the form of a unitary film, as well as Pons' ability to adapt the Monzón narrative essence -and, especially, its rhetorical resource par excellence: irony, to audiovisual language.
