Author: Fernández García, Silvia
Tutor: Turón Viñas, Marc
Abstract: Epilepsy is an alteration of the brain characterized by a chronic predisposition to generate epileptic seizures, as well as their consequences. The case described is a 67-year-old man with frontotemporal focal epilepsy since 2013, with a family history of epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease. In general, it presents a limit performance in the neuropsychological profile, highlighting the deficits in memory, evocation and inhibition. The aim of the neuropsychological intervention is to rehabilitate these affected cognitive functions and optimize the independent and autonomous functioning of the patient. The intervention plan will consist of 32 sessions of cognitive stimulation over 4 months. The frequency will be 2 weekly sessions, lasting one hour. For this purpose, material in paper format, tablet and a virtual reality system will be used.
