Abstract: Childhood psychosis is associated with low cognitive performance; however, few studies have been carried out in this field. Knowing and understanding the cognitive profile of children and adolescents with psychotic symptoms, especially in terms of memory, is essential to ensure an adequate learning process. This systematic review collects findings regarding the types of memory affected in children and adolescents with psychotic symptoms and analyzes their relationship with various factors such as sex, age and type of disorder. We used the databases Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science and Redalyc where 1130 articles were found, of which 17 were selected. We included studies in spanish and english, which evaluated memory in children or adolescents with psychotic symptoms. The type of memory most evaluated was working memory (82.75% of the articles), followed by verbal, visual and visuospatial memory, and short- and long-term memory. 70.59% of the studies found significantly lower performance in the population with psychotic symptoms, especially in short-term memory, long-term memory and working memory. No significant differences were found between the female and male sex, nor between the different age groups. The main limitations refer to the heterogeneity of neuropsychological tests used and the lack of differentiation between positive and negative symptoms. Knowing the types of altered memory in patients with psychotic symptoms will provide contributions to the medical and academic area.
