Abstract: | Sara must survive is a zombie-themed post-apocalyptic 2D shooter. The main goal of the player is to ensure that lieutenant Sara, the main character of the game, arrives to Tacoma (the nearest port city) where she will search a boat to escape. To develop the project, the work methodology used was similar to that actually employed by videogames industry. After the establishment of the necessary stages to execute the present project, they were expressed as a Gantt diagram, allowing an adequate workflow planning. Then, several game engines were analysed before selecting Unity due to its active support community. The use of Unity means that C# must be used as the programming language to make the scripts. On the other hand, several tools and resources (mainly of free license) were used in the graphic and sound design and to support the technical development. Finally, all these steps lead to the creation of the first level of the game. There, Sara begins her trip through the WA-164 freeway to Tacoma, where she will find several unexpected events that will alter her travel plan. |
