| Abstract: | At the beginning of the 20th century, burials were rituals involving religious elements only, and most people experienced them that way. As the century progressed, the religious sense began to dissolve. Though it did not disappear fully, it transformed itself in such a pronounced way that the absence of a religious component in today's burials is often notable. Through the ethnographic study of the information of the people interviewed, I shall ascertain whether the descriptions they give adapt to my idea that 20th century burial rituals have become demystified. |
