Abstract: This study, which in part copies the title of Symons' book, also attempts to shape itself on a dual expository level. The first level- the first objective- is the most obvious: To offer a summary panorama of the content of the main works by the author Alexander Zinoviev, and contextualize them (by executing incursions in the manner of brief predatory raids on the thoughts of other authors). The study, though, aspires to include a second plot: The intent to observe a specific intellectual trajectory, in this case that of Zinoviev, from a certain distance and find out whether we can extract a lesson not necessarily from the theories that the author records in writing, but from the existential and intellectual attitude with which an individual confronts the cataclysms caused by the successive collapses and exaltations of the important ideologies of his age.
