Abstract: The aim of this work is the conceptual design of a prototype system that saves water and energy in the supply of domestic hot water. This system will be designed taking into account the needs of Domestic Hot Water for a family unit of 4 individuals in a newly built home where there are no impediments to its physical implementation and focused on its use for the shower. The shower is chosen because it is potentially the process where the greatest amount of water and energy is consumed - and misused. The conceptual design includes a brief description of the physical elements of traditional water heating systems on which to base the modifications that will allow a closed-loop control of temperature and an optimization of both water and energy consumption. The following are the physical elements on which to define the control functions and the states of the system are defined with special emphasis on the security of users. It is specified at a conceptual level the communications system that allows the sending of signals within the system and with the outside, thus facilitating the integration of mobile and geolocation technologies for the configuration and control of the system, taking advantage of 'these to optimize energy consumption. Finally, a mobile application interface for system control is proposed.
