Abstract: | The journey of the hero. Structural analysis of the script and the Mr. Robot series is a research work carried out to study the script based on the analysis of the journey of the hero of the main character of Mr Robot series from USA Network (Elliot Alderson); through an analitic reading of the whole series. A universal outline, relevant to any age, analysed by the mythologist Joseph Campbell; the script analysts Syd Field and Christopher Vogler and the theorists Greimas and Propp. Mr Robot is a series that creates a perfect atmosphere, with good use of photography, symbols and script. It invites us to invent theories, to play with its scripts, to go a step further on television and to investigate the diversity of narrative sources such as the cinema of David Fincher. The anti-heroe also, the protagonist's inner demons, the fragmentation of his personality, the breakdown of Elliot's subconscious. It's like a process of decomposition of Elliot's subconscious, which is like a metaphor for the operating system that leads to his self-destruction hacked by external entities. Therefore, it is interesting to study the "hero's journey" of its protagonist, to discover what archetypes the series have, the intertextuality and the structure of its script. |
