Title: El miedo como herramienta política. Caso VOX
Author: Seoane Caeiro, Alba
Tutor: Rosser Limiñana, Pablo
Abstract: The use of fear in politics, more typical of totalitarian regimes, is a normal feature of the current Spanish political scene. Aware of its power of conviction, some politicians use it as another tool to achieve their objectives, moving away from the most basic principles of what politics should be. All of this, aided by the passivity of an important part of society, which remains unaware of the manipulation of one of its most primal emotions. With the intention of discovering how fear influences the electorate's intention to vote and what tactics are used by some parties to arouse this emotion, we will use the example of the rise of Vox in the 2019 elections and its amazing electoral result, not only focusing on that period, but also making a brief tour of its environment that will help us to have a more elaborate idea of the connection between fear as a political tool and the increase in its popularity.
