Abstract: Visibility is essential for sexual minorities to be socially accepted. Social acceptance, at the same time, is indispensable for achieving the legal changement which sexual minorities need to totally enjoy those rights that, as human beings, they are afforded, without suffering any kind of discrimination. Freedom of assembly plays a basic role in sexual minorities visibilization. In this dissertation we will analyze, through the European Court of Human Rights case law, how social attitude changement towards sexual minorities has led to legal changemente. But this process has not been easy. As sexual minorities have been granted new rights, strong opposition has arisen from certain social groups who claim for traditional values to be preserved. Those groups, when have in their hands the State's political power, will pursue the invisibilization of sexual minorities: at an internal level, by means of restricting freedom of assembly; in a global context, by putting into question the whole Human Rights system.
