Title: Eficàcia de les aules d'acollida com a recurs d'integració escolar
Author: Lozano Reis, Carlos
Tutor: Balart, Imma
Abstract: The progressive increase in immigration in recent decades has been accompanied by a parallel increase in the number of newcomers to school in Catalonia. Reception classrooms are one of the resources deployed by the education system to meet the educational needs, adaptation and integration of this group. The present research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of these resources, through the perspective of teachers and other educational agents who work to meet the needs of these students, through an ex-post facto study with methodology of 'surveys. The results obtained show that the participants value this resource positively. Professionals specializing in language, social cohesion, and attention to diversity scored higher on all dimensions of the questionnaire. In addition, a positive correlation was found between the age of the participants and the scores obtained. These results are in line with other studies, which indicate that the perception and attitude of teachers serving newcomer students would be influenced by their specific training in attention to diversity and intercultural education.
