Title: Las variables sociodemográficas docentes y su relación con la prevalencia del burnout: estudio de las variables sociodemográficas y el burnout en una muestra de docentes de Galicia

Abstract: AIM: This assignment aims to determine possible associations between the Burnout level of primary, infant and special education teachers in public and private schools in the Autonomous Community of Galicia and the sociodemographic variables of age, years of experience, gender, children, relationships personal, teaching environment and job position. METHOD: The Burnout MBI-Ed questionnaire translated by Seisdedos (1997) is administered to a sample group, consisting of 174 educators, together with a section dedicated to the collection of data related to the sociodemographic variables analysed. The values referring to the MBI-ED for each subscale of its construct are added by population groups based on the sociodemographic variables compared, applying the r statistic to study the association between Burnout and the variables age and years of experience and the X2 statistic for the rest of variables. RESULTS: The analysis of the proposed statistics suggest that there is a link between the variable 'teaching environment' and the level of Burnout for the 'emotional exhaustion' subscale, being the subject teachers and support teachers more prone to suffer deep levels of Burnout. DISCUSSION: It is proposed to expand the sample in future research, to carry out a new study in a more favourable historical and social context, to deepen the analysis of the association between Burnout and the teaching field, and to open up new avenues for research in the study of Burnout associating it to variables of a different nature.
