Abstract: The increase in interannual internet traffic and the demand for mobile data is coupled with the need to reach all corners of our geography with robust transmission networks with enough capacity to withstand the increase in traffic in the coming years. We are going to carry out a design exercise for a transmission network in the Catalan Pyrenees, where we intend to collect the traffic from 12 regions of the Catalan Pyrenees. For them, their capitals will be linked with 2 provincial capitals that will bring together traffic. We want to design from the route of the trench that the cable will carry, defining the type of trench, the type of cable, the optical distributors, the fiber optic junction boxes, the connectors, the DWDM equipment and the traffic calculation that we should extract in each region capital, as well as the cards of the DWDM devices that allows us to extract this traffic and the total cost calculation of each of the sections mentioned above. We will see the interannual increases to 5 years ahead and the material and economic needs to be able to extract the traffic from all the regions.
