Abstract: In an increasingly digitalised world, the use of 3D reproduction technologies is spreading to all sectors, getting slowly closer to reality. The proposed study for this assignment analyses the use of 3D reproduction technologies applied to cultural heritage, in relation to its function: entertainment, educational, research or documentation. Through a general presentation of the digitisation of heritage in the European territory, we will go deeper into the techniques that are currently used to see the opportunities and limitations they present, as well as the legislation on the process of representing heritage in three dimensions. All of this will lead us to study a series of cases of current projects, to discover if there are common features in projects developed with a specific purpose, how the different techniques are applied to each sector and the historical evidence of each specific case.
