Abstract: In 2018, the Generalitat de Catalunya created the Service of Attention to Victims of Crime (SAVD) in court. This service mainly attends to victims of gender violence in the intimate partner sphere during appearances in the specialised Courts of Violence against Women. The aim of this work is, through an autoethnographic methodology, to examine the social practices carried out in the courts by the professionals who work with women in situations of intimate partner violence. The most relevant conclusions point to the homogenisation of women by the judicial system that does not take into account the variability between people, the formal and rigid structure of the system, the projection of power relations that place women as passive subjects while they are asked to be active and proactive in the cause and the importance of spaces as constructors and perpetuators of these relationship dynamics.
