Abstract: This document aims to embark on a path aimed at finding an emancipatory story for the residential issue, by proposing the right to the home as an overflow of the right to housing. From a theoretical framework that helps us to overcome the conception of home that Heidegger made, we take advantage of the theoretical constructions of Josep Maria Esquirol and Marina Garcés to build a concept of home as the space that welcomes us and that is integrated by a triple scale: intimacy, security and community. We will try to demonstrate the links between housing and the community and how the home becomes fundamental in building the right to the city. In order to be able to show that the community aspect is a fundamental part of the home, we will analyze the commodification processes suffered in the field of study and we will observe how they have influenced the neighborhood experience of living; not only in terms of community practices, but also in terms of their daily and domestic lives. Finally, we will study some cases that, from common practices, we think have integrated the community aspect into their domestic and daily life in a way balanced with intimacy and how these common living experiences have the virtue of lightening. the processes of alienation generated by neoliberal dynamics.
