Author: Cabezudo Fors, David

Abstract: The generational renewal in any business is a vital aspect which will determine the survival of the organization both in the mid-term and in the long-term, but when it comes to family business, the succession will affect not only the organization but also the owner family. Family business is probably the major source of job creation in the private sector. Therefore, it's compulsory to make every effort to facilitate the continuity of this type of company, which are often very small-sized enterprises. When considering generational renewal in these family microenterprises, there is often a lack of quality advice that allows both generations to establish an action plan to facilitate the transfer, beyond economic factors, and to avoid improvisation. At a time when it is easy to discover multitude of guides to create a business plan on the internet or at any library, it is paradoxical how difficult it can be to find out recommendations that guide this vital process for the company survival and for the family health safeguard.
