Abstract: The objective of this work is to design a database that manages electoral processes, including allowing electronic voting, in a flexible, effective, efficient and transparent way. The nature of the process it manages will cause a large amount of stored data, therefore, the system must adapt to large volumes of data and retrieve a series of indicators in a constant, practically immediate time. The design is based on a fixed statement and a well-known process with little variation in recent years. For this reason, given the unlikely occurrence of changes during system design, a cascade development process is chosen divided into four phases: requirements gathering, analysis and design, implementation and testing. The results have been completely satisfactory as the objectives have been achieved ahead of schedule. In addition, the database is prepared with a multitude of controls to direct the future application that uses this database in the right direction. On the other hand, the 429 unit and the built-in tests, successfully executed, provide peace of mind that the system will behave correctly.
