Title: Les teories conspiracionistes i negacionistes davant la Covid-19: Una perspectiva antropològica
Author: Jimenez Ballesteros, Joaquin

Abstract: The emergence of the covid-19 pandemic has had global effects on many dimensions of social life, including the activation of denialist and conspiratorial movements. In this text we understand negationism and conspiracy as the act of denying reality or also of trying to explain an event or chain of events, commonly of political, social, economic, religious or historical importance, by the supposed action of powerful groups that respond to hidden purposes. The aim of this research has been to analyse the role and dynamics of these movements in society and, especially, in the digital society. That is why we have carried out a hybrid documentary and social media search. In the first case, a systematic review of the existing bibliography in the Scopus, Pumbed and Google Scholar databases has been carried out, ending with the study of twenty-seven different articles with reference to conspiracy and denialist movements linked with Covid-19. In the second, through an infiltration task in different social networks, mostly Instagram and Telegram, an analysis has been carried out in different areas on fifteen accounts or entities related to conspiracy or denialist theories. In this sense, the results show that these are upward trends, as they bring together a large volume of people; concluding thus that they are plural movements and that they attract very diverse people, being elevated like a social refuge.
