Abstract: The publishing industry has an important role in the cultural sector in Spain, which has experienced a significant growth in people who read books for leisure in recent years. In this respect, bookshops continue to be the main purchasing channel. Through communication and public relations techniques, the main objectives of this project are to give greater visibility to Federación de Librarías de Galicia (Galician Bookshops Federation) and to encourage its members into cultural promoters. This proactive strategy is part of the celebration of Xacobeo 2021-22, which assists the impact of the actions. Based on an analysis of the organization and the definition of its specific goals and objectives, this communication plan presents innovative tactics that have been designed to achieve greater recognition of the society and promote its positioning as a brand. By adopting this plan, the association can support the challenge of turning its members into genuine master booksellers by strengthening the corporate identity and by promoting activities which allow it to interact with the audiences. The creative actions proposed here combine both traditional and online media channels, with a special focus on creating communities on social media platforms to connect with the target audience. This illustrates the importance that digital tools have today as versatile, adaptable, immediate and accessible channels. This plan is adapted to the characteristics and resources of the Federation. An accurate analysis will later facilitate the evaluation of each tactic to determine the achievement of the goals. In conclusion, while the actions are implemented the sale of books in the associated establishments is promoted, reading is encouraged and the staff of the Galician bookshops become authentic cultural masters.
