Title: Evaluación e intervención en un caso de encefalitis post-COVID-19
Author: García Flórez, Águeda

Abstract: The present work deals with a patient diagnosed with post-COVID-19 encephalitis in the month of October 2020. At first it showed a florid chart of neurological symptoms (gait, coordination, verbal comprehension, disorientation, amnesia ...) and that that required hospital admission. The chosen case is a real patient, a 75-year-old man, a native of León and a widower. He came to our center in January 2021 requesting a neuropsychological assessment in which a serious impairment of attention was observed, accompanied by a moderate-severe impairment of memory, executive functions, and verbal and non- verbal fluency. The neuropsychological intervention proposed based on the results obtained consists of 2 weekly sessions of 60 minutes lasting approximately 6 months. The general objective is the improvement of the affected cognitive functions, reinforcing the conserved functions and providing him and his family with support and guidance. This intervention includes: psychoeducation, cognitive stimulation, compensatory strategies for the deficit and family intervention. The expected results in neuropsychological rehabilitation will demonstrate a significant improvement at the cognitive and emotional level, reducing the impact of alterations in daily life and promoting personal autonomy.
