Abstract: The aim of this degree final project (TFG) is to analyse the economic-financial situation and the evolution of the Barceló Group during the period 2015 to 2019. Also, to proceed with the elaboration of an analysis of the sector to which it belongs. The company studied focuses its main activity on the management of hotels and travel agencies. It is part of the elite of companies in its sector both nationally and internationally The objective of this project is to answer the question of Which are the weak points in the Barceló Group's management to initiate improvement actions that increase its profits? The analysis carried out has been oriented, at any time, to find those weaknesses that even the most important companies have. Based on their location, my interest has focused on proposing actions to combat them and improve profits. The project has begun with the analysis, using comparisons, percentages, and ratios, of the consolidated financial statements of the Barceló group in the aforementioned period, to determine its economic and financial situation. Strengths and weaknesses of its management have been detected. From here we have proceeded to analyse two important companies in the sector, which is the leader Meliá and NH. My interest has been to know the peculiarities of its economic and financial management and to be able to compare them with the one studied. The SWOT analysis has completed this entire process, showing the strengths and weaknesses of the Barceló Group (internal analysis) and the threats and opportunities to which, it is exposed (external analysis). A diagnosis of the economic and financial situation of the company and its positioning with respect to the two selected companies, Meliá and NH, has been carried out. The conclusions resulting from the present study have been presented. Finally, the future vision of the company is specified, and 28 improvement actions are presented which, if applied properly, have the potential to considerably increase the number of profits. In this way, an answer is given to the question - objective of this final degree project.
