Abstract: This paper is an economic-financial analysis of Endesa SA in 2016-2020 period, and its competition in 2016-2019 period. Through the analysis of Endesa SA financial statements, we want to answer the following question: How Endesa SA has been able to be more efficient and increase the dividend for five years in a row? Firstly, the electricity sector has been positioned to make its more understandable to the reader. Then a summary of the company's history since its inception and an analysis of its annual accounts and their evolution was performed. We concluded that, although the sales level evolves correctly, the company is heavily in debt. Once the analysis of the company was finalized, we proceeded to make a short introduction of the competition companies and the reason why they were selected. Therefore, we prepared an economicfinancial analysis of the competition and compared it with Endesa. With all the information previously compiled, we done a SWOT and a CAME analysis of Endesa S.A. We used the CAME analysis to resolve the deficiencies detected in the SWOT and make a list of recommendations for the future. Finally, we answered the principal question of the paper and the main conclusion is that Endesa SA is an over-indebted company, which will develop into some difficulties in order to sustain economically the actual dividend distribution policy, unless the sales and efficiency of the company increase.
