Abstract: This research project attempts to improve the differential diagnosis of ADHD. In the literature, we have encountered a disorder called Slow Cognitive Rhythm whose symptoms resemble the inattentive subtype of ADHD. Most studies managed to distinguish both disorders in terms of clinical symptomatology. Neuropsychological studies to date have focused exclusively on executive functioning, but none have focused on attentional performance. Therefore, there is multiple clinical interest in studying the attentional functions of both disorders in the differential diagnosis and management of ADHD. Objectives. In this paper, we will attempt to dissociate ADHD-I and SCT in terms of attentional performances using the KiTAP neuropsychological test, based on the attentional model of Van Zomeren and Brouwer (1994). Methodology. We will compare attentional performances in both ADHD and SCT groups with multifactorial ANOVAs. Results. We expect that attentional performance in sustained attention and vigilance tasks (intensity axis) will be significantly lower in the SCT group than in the ADHD-I group.
