Abstract: The purpose of this work is to investigate the authorship and protection of intellectual property rights of works generated by an artificial intelligence, taking into account the growing presence of artificial intelligence in our lives, as well as the accelerated development of this technology. There are already artistic works created by artificial intelligences and thanks to the advances in this field, their use in different fields such as audiovisual, journalism, video games, etc. is growing, and it is even a matter of time before we have at our disposal artistic works generated by artificial intelligences on demand. Due to this growing use, it is pertinent to make a study of the current situation and present possible solutions to the existing problems regarding the authorship and protection of intellectual property rights of works generated by artificial intelligence.
