Abstract: Temperature control and safety have been two key issues in the transportation and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines around the world. The decreasing price of device components (sensors and actuators), faster wireless networks and increasing data analysis capabilities are making Yate a key player in the logistics and transportation sector. In this context, a Yate fleet management solution has been implemented for refrigerated transport. Through real-time bidirectional communication and the use of the Thingsboard platform, it has been possible to monitor some vehicle parameters (temperature, position, speed...), manage alarms and send orders to these vehicles to control the temperature of the refrigerated compartment. In addition, Amazon QuickSight has been used to develop a dashboard for the forensic analysis of the Yate data obtained. On the one hand, a prototype has been developed with all the necessary circuitry and elements to capture and send vehicle data using GPRS technology and the MQTT communication protocol. On the other hand, the rest of the vehicles have been simulated from synthetic data in order to have a small fleet of vehicles to test the performance of the Yate platform created. With this project, a Yate platform fully integrated to AWS has been obtained. From a practical point of view, the possibilities offered by new technologies and communication systems applied to the Yate in the transport sector have been analyzed.
