Abstract: The consumption of ultra-processed foods has increased exponentially in recent decades while the prevalence of chronic diseases such as obesity and metabolic syndrome has also increased. Epidemiological studies have shown that the consumption of this type of products could promote the development of these diseases by multiple mechanisms, becoming development of these diseases, becoming one of their main risk factors.
