Author: Rodríguez Millán, Inés
Tutor: Marín Capilla, Mar
Abstract: Staff turnover is a problem increasingly present in organizations, which must be reduced in order to avoid its consequences. To do so, it is necessary to know how to attract and retain talent, focusing especially on young talent and more specifically on millennials, who, according to the literature, have a greater tendency to change companies and not stay for long periods. Therefore, the objective of this research focuses on knowing the work preferences of millennials in order to know how to attract them to a company and retain them for a longer period of time. The methodology used consists of a questionnaire with questions about the reasons for leaving a job or for deciding to work in a company, answered by 359 people between 21 and 39 years old living in Asturias. The results show that this generation does not give so much importance to the prestige of the company and is not only interested in the salary, but also gives great importance to other factors such as having interesting tasks, feeling valued or having possibilities of promotion and conciliation. Future lines of research could study generation Z, the generation that follows the millennials and which will be entering organizations in the future.
