Author: Rosario Betancor, Cristina
Tutor: Gutiérrez Berciano, Sué
Abstract: The general objective of this study is to analyze the knowledge of early childhood and elementary school teachers about dyslexia. The sample included 193 teachers, of whom 133 were experienced teachers and 60 were inexperienced prospective teachers. All of them were administered an instrument consisting of a sociodemographic questionnaire and the Knowledge and Beliefs about Developmental Dyslexia Scale (KBDDS), using a quantitative methodology. The results of the statistical analysis show that teachers responded correctly to half of the total items of the scale, showing greater knowledge in the Treatment subscale. The data show that teachers have little knowledge about dyslexia.
