Abstract: Abstract: The social bias of the catalan political elites. The case of Government of Catalonia (1999 - 2003 - 2006 - 2010) Thirty years after the restoration of the Government of Catalonia very little is known of the social profile of the catalan Government¿s political elite. The current paper makes an initial approach to the subject throughout the last four terms of office of the Government of Catalonia. Members of this Government present social bias with regard to the population and according to the agglutination models of the political elite, although the model of increasing social disparity is only valid in terms of gender. The profile is that of a man, older than the average, born in Catalonia, having developed his previous career in Barcelona, with a level of education above the average and economist. This profile is not exactly the same that the Spanish regional Parliamentarians¿ profile. Age and profession are different, while gender, birthplace and education level match. On the other hand, the Left or Centre Left Governments show a slightly higher percentage of women than the others. Moreover, members related to the PANE (Parties of Non-State Level in Catalan and Spanish initials letters) are younger, there are less women, less internal immigrants, less educators and the educational credentials have no significantly differences concerning members connected with the national parties.
