Abstract: Educational centres, and their organization, constitute a complex field of work and study. By this we mean that it is a dynamic, open and changing world, where interests and personal and collective tensions are brought to light, sometimes of an ideological and political nature. But it is also, perhaps for all the above, an attractive and stimulating world. Schools, high schools, training centres, etc. are the main parts of the structure of our educational system inasmuch as they are the physical and relational framework in which the most basic educational action is carried out, that which is established between professors, teachers or trainers and students. In this simplicity and its importance and social power lies its complexity. Educational centres organize and manage educational contents, commodities, social relationships and, above all, people. And regarding people, these are also of very diverse types: pupils, fathers and mothers, teaching staff and social environment. As institutions, therefore, they are diverse and dynamic. Despite what has been said, it should be pointed out that the course is not addressed to future directors of educational centres, nor is it an exposition of the current legal framework regarding organization of centers, although general knowledge of these aspects is advisable. This would be a very limited and contingent approach, on account of the continuous changes in this regard. Likewise, although we talk about schools, as basic educational institutions, the contents can also be applied to all formal or non-formal education institutions. The purpose of this course is to show the organizational reality of educational institutions in its broadest and most open sense, in other words, from the point of view of organizational dynamics and management of contents and people. Moreover, we aim to provide students with the opportunity for reflecting and reasoning based on real or simulated cases, and to prepare them for possible future performance in educational centres, whether as part of the management team, as a teacher who is a staff member, or as a professional taking part in specific areas. It is essential, therefore, to obtain referents for analysis and interpretation of the organizational reality of centres from different theoretical perspectives, in order to take part in the professional practice.
