|Abstract: ||This project aims to build a HTPC (Home Theater PC), ie a computer equipped with multimedia capabilities and suitable for being used in the sofa at our house.
To achieve this goal we must first acquire the hardware. Fist of all, HTPC itself must be small and quiet; it must have VGA, DVI and HDMI ports, and also be able to play high-definition formats without any complications. Monitoring shall take place through a device that does not require a flat surface.
Then we must choose the software, therefore, we must choose some distribution of GNU/Linux, installed on the KDE4 desktop environment, and other specific software such as browser, email, media player, etc.
The resulting product will be a HTPC, which as we said, we would use in the couch at home cosily and easily.|
