Abstract: Resolving disputes without going to court or in collaboration with courts is a phenomenon that has seen the consolidation of a wide variety of practices, methods and dynamics generally coming under the umbrella of the acronyms ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) or ODR (Online Dispute Resolution). These methods -including mediation, conciliation and arbitration- currently involve certain technical and interoperability problems, and there is some uncertainty as to the value of their results. Thus, in some areas, and in those methods developed electronically in particular, a need has been seen to systematise certain recognised principles and standards in their practice so as to ensure the necessary feeling of trust.
