Title: La brecha digital, una brecha simbólica

Abstract: This article reflects on the literature of the concept digital divide, differentiating this concept between connection divide and symbolic divide. The digital divide is developed as an element of social exclusion, to prevent citizens who are in this situation the normal development of the virtual personality, or to participate as active members with "cyber citizenship" in the network society, assuming the perspective of change that is characteristic of the Information Society.
