| Abstract: | The articles included in the monograph "Digital culture and creative practice in education" analyse the impact digital technology and the Internet are having on education, which is understood as a process based on knowledge, communication and social interaction. Teachers and students alike have been drastically transformed by the emergence of the digital culture, prompting the need for change in the role and organisation of educational institutions. More specifically, the Web 2.0 has given rise to creative and collaborative practises that favour a form of learning based on problem solving and "do-it-yourself" educational strategies. These experiences sometimes occur in the periphery of formal education. At the same time, educational technologies themselves have evolved in line with cultural changes, from centralised, closed models to open systems based on "cloud computing". |
