| Abstract: | Use of new information technologies has made possible the creation of virtual university libraries that, are not only an integral part of the pedagogical model, but that can introduce their contents and services in places that were unforeseen until now: in virtual classrooms where they are a part of courses, in virtual teaching support spaces, in research areas and, of course, in their own Library section. These possibilities, derived from the organization of virtual campuses, allow the professional librarian/documentalist to personalize contents and services, and to create custom-made libraries according to specific needs. They also allow development of "push" techniques to notify and disseminate the most suitable services to each typology of users. |
