Title: La condició de la dona per a Bernat Metge: pecat o virtut?
Author: Lucea Teruel, Esther

Abstract: Bernat Metge developed part of the 3rd book of 'Lo somni' (The dream) following the style, argument and theme of the 'Corbaccio' by Giovanni Boccaccio, standing out from the common pattern of literature in the Middle Ages, the imitative prose. The 'Corbaccio' deals with the feminine condition, and so do two of the four books of 'Lo somni', therefore, both can be included in the discussion that went on about this matter throughout the Middle Ages. The present work will outline briefly what was the idea of woman in the Middle Ages and will also follow the way the two authors addressed the discussion. Furthermore, it will try to find out what connections their books have with other works about the feminine condition, either the ones which came before and were a source for them, or the later ones, which probably owe a lot to the studied authors.
