Abstract: Project management certifications are an important issue today, as the number of people certified in this area increases year after year and companies are increasingly more interested in recruiting professionals who have these titles. The main goal is to present some of the most important certifications in the field of project management in order to be able to compare and analyze what is the most beneficial for professionals in project management and also for companies that have these profiles. This paper will introduce PMP and PRINCE2 certifications, as well as a comparison to discover the main differences, and a brief study of the methodologies used by each of them. Also, will describe the process of examination of each of the certifications analyzed in order to get an idea of everything that involves obtaining and maintaining these titles.
